  • Catherine Keener has joined the cast of Get Out, the racially charged horror-thriller from writer-director Jordan Peele, of Key & Peele. Allison Williams and Daniel Kaluuya are already on board the film, about a black man who visits his white girlfriend’s family estate. [Deadline]
  • Multi-hyphenate Eugenio Derbez will star in and direct Ponce, a modern-day U.S.-set dramedy about the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon and his quest to find the fountain of youth. Max Botkin wrote the script, and Pantelion and 3Pas Studios are producing. [Variety]
  • New Zealand actor Beulah Koale will play the third lead in DreamWorks’ PTSD drama Thank You For Your Service, opposite Miles Teller and Haley Bennett. Jason Hall, who earned an Oscar nomination for writing American Sniper, is making his directing debut on the film, which he also adapted from David Finkel‘s nonfiction book about American soldiers trying to readjust to civilian life after serving in Iraq.
