The Walking Dead, Empire, and Pretty Little Liars lead top Twitter trends for 2015

Also, Comedy Central's #BieberRoast

(Gene Page/AMC; Eric McCandless/ABC Family; Chuck Hodes/Fox; Peter Yang)

When The Walking Dead left Glenn’s fate up in the air for a truly absurd amount of time, when Terrence Howard hilariously rapped about “snitchin’ ass bitches” on Empire, and when the identity of “A” was finally revealed on Pretty Little Liars, Twitter was there.

On Monday, Twitter released the list of most-tweeted hashtags in 2015 for categories like TV, music, and, of course, emojis. (The cry-laugh emoji earned the top spot, while the fire emoji came in under the wire at No. 10. The more you know.)

Also included in the top-tweeted for TV is Comedy Central’s Roast of Justin Bieber, a ratings blockbuster which Bieber later admitted to Billboard contained some moments that were “like, ‘Man, that cut deep,’ but I was there to take it on the chin.”

And the list is not entirely anglocentric — South Korea’s The Show made the cut, as did the Tamang Panahon concert in the Phillippines, which generated nearly 40 million tweets on Oct. 24 alone.
