Taraji P. Henson made James Corden cry before his Empire audition

It was a bit, but lol: 'You fake, dumb, Winnie the Pooh man'

How’s this for a Hollywood what if? James Corden could have played Cookie Lyon on Empire.

Okay, not really, but that’s the scenario Corden imagined on Tuesday’s episode of The Late Late Show. Corden showed footage of his encounter with eventual Empire star Taraji P. Henson outside the audition room.

At first, Corden – dressed like Cookie – came on strong, attacking Henson’s wardrobe and “dollar-store hoops.” It didn’t work.

“The day you take a job from Taraji P. Henson, is the day I drag you through the streets by the roots of your nasty weave,” Henson said to Corden. She later added, “I raised Benjamin Button, b-tch,” and then mocked Corden for not having any Oscar nominations to his name. (Henson was nominated for her role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.)

“You think anybody saw you in Into the Woods? All anybody ever saw was Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, and the trees. Were you a tree?” she continued, before finally calling Corden a “fake, dumb, Winnie the Pooh man.” The host responded by crying. Watch the segment below.
