Paramore bassist Jeremy Davis has left the band, they announced on their official Facebook page Monday.

“To be honest, this has been really painful,” the band wrote in the post. “After taking time to consider how to move forward, we ultimately found that we really do believe Paramore can and should continue on. And so we will.”

Davis was a founding member of the band along with frontwoman Hayley Williams and left once in 2005 before returning just a few months later. Brothers Josh and Zac Farro, also founding members, left the band in late 2010.

“We’re really thankful for the people who have helped see us through hard times before and what we’ve discovered is that those poeple are just as much a part of this as we will ever be,” Paramore continued on Facebook. “We’re hopeful for Paramore’s future and we’re also excited for what Jeremy’s going to do next.”
