The Roots debut Star Wars raps on The Tonight Show

(NBC)

If John Williams’ beautiful Star Wars: The Force Awakens score just isn’t your tempo at the moment, The Roots have a set of new Star Wars raps to keep fans singing along on their ride to the theater.

Host Jimmy Fallon had fans submit #StarWarsRaps to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, with The Roots performing the best of them on the show. Set to the tunes of “My Name Is,” “Big Papa,” and more, The Roots rapped about everything from Yoda to Chewbacca. Even Jar Jar Binks snuck into the selections thanks to a twist on Drake’s “Hotline Bling” (though, for better or worse, the band is not accompanied by a dancing CGI Jar Jar).

See The Roots’ performances below, which come shortly after they and Fallon took part in an a cappella take on Williams’ orchestral score along with some of the franchise’s stars. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is now in theaters.
