Michelle Yeoh has signed on for a recurring role in season 2 of Netflix original series Marco Polo, the network announced Monday.

She’ll play “a mysterious figure from Hundred Eyes’ (Tom Wu) past,” according to a release — see the first photo of Yeoh’s appearance above. “Michelle Yeoh is not only a screen legend and one of the greatest international action stars of all time, she’s one of the best actors of her generation,” creator John Fusco said in a statement. “So we are thrilled to have her join one of the most diverse ensembles in television and bring her unique talents to Marco Polo

“Her role in the second season is one that’s going to add even more intrigue, mystery, and Asian martial arts to our rich story world.” 

This is not Yeoh’s only relationship with Netflix: The actress is set to reprise her role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for sequel Sword of Destiny, which will stream on Netflix and in select theaters on Feb. 26.
