Classic toy company American Girl Doll named its 2016 Girl of the Year: Lea Clark.
The new character was announced Thursday via Good Morning America, and is described as a 10-year-old, animal-loving photographer who visits Brazil and discovers a world of adventure.
According to the announcement, American Girl will release an action film based on her travels in summer 2016. Three books (Lea Dives In, Lea Leads The Way, and Lea and the Camila) written by Lisa Yee will follow.
The doll makers also announced that in keeping with Lea’s interest in animals, they would begin a year-long campaign to support the World Wildlife Fund. See the full reveal over at GMA.
Lea will be in stores Jan. 1.
