Out of the Woods director says Taylor Swift 'suffered for her art' while making music video

After the release of Taylor Swift’s “Out of the Woods” music video, director Joseph Kahn revealed behind-the-scenes photos from her icy shoot.

“Taylor was so dedicated to making this video,” Kahn wrote on Twitter. “I was wrapped in snow gear. She was in a dress. She suffered for her art.” He continued, “Taylor chose to stay in the mud for hours to keep the shoot moving. No in and out. Just gangstered it. She is bad ass.”

Kahn went into further detail in a series of Instagram posts. The director, who also helmed Swift’s videos for “Blank Space,” “Wildest Dreams,” and ”Bad Blood,” shared snapshots of him scouting locations and “landing on top of mountains no human been on before.” He wrote, “Three helicopters for [“Out of the Woods” music video]. One for people, one for ground equipment, one for camera.”
