Exclusive first look at Contracted director's new black comedy-thriller Get the Girl

Is it ever a bad idea to include a kidnapping in your film?

Maybe not. Just ask the Coen brothers. Or, for that matter, just ask Contracted writer-director Eric England, who is following up his 2013 cult horror hit with the kidnapping-themed black comedy-thriller, Get the Girl

The film concerns a wealthy young man who stages a fake kidnapping in order to be a hero and win the affection of a girl with whom he’s madly in love. When one of the hired kidnappers is accidentally killed during the charade, he’s forced to actually save her life while not revealing that it’s been a ruse all along.

Get the Girl stars Justin Dobies (Dear White People), Noah Segan (Looper), Elizabeth Whitson (Awkward), Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake), James Landry Hébert (HBO’s forthcoming Westworld), actor-producer Adi Shankar (The Voices), and newcomer Jerry Purpdrank. The film will likely be released this coming summer.
