Rotten Tomatoes crowns Mad Max: Fury Road best film of 2015

Mad Max: Fury Road sped past its competition to nab another best film award.

Rotten Tomatoes, the film review aggregation site, handed George Miller’s action blockbuster the 2015 Golden Tomato Award for Best Reviewed Film — Wide Release. Based off its 333 reviews, the most of any film last year, Fury Road was Certified Fresh at 97 percent.

“It’s always gratifying to have a positive critical response,” Miller said in a statement. “It is, after all, how we learn about our work. And now here’s a Golden Tomato! How cool!”

To date, Fury Road has brought in Best Film hardware from the National Board of Review and the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts.

The other big honorees for the 17th annual awards include Room for Best Reviewed Film — Limited Release, Fargo for Best Reviewed Returning TV Series, and Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul for Best Reviewed New TV Series.
