“We’re not gonna take it!” sang Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider on the band’s 1984 hit of the same name. What were the makeup-sporting rockers declining to receive, exactly? If it was the lack of a proper documentary about the much-beloved metallers, then their intractability has finally been rewarded.

Next month sees the release of the film We Are Twisted F–king Sister!, which tracks the formation and rise of the band with contributions from members, managers, and fans. Directed by Andrew Horn, the documentary premieres in New York and Los Angeles on Feb. 19 as well as being screened at special events in Chicago, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, and other cities (check out the website of distributors Music Box for more details).

We Are Twisted F–king Sister! will also be available to own on DVD/Blu-ray and digital platforms, including iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play, Feb. 23.
