Tributes continue to pour in for rock legend David Bowie, but none more touching than the one from Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones.
The Warcraft director confirmed his father’s death on Twitter soon after Bowie’s official social media accounts posted notice of his passing.
“Very sorry and sad to say it’s true,” Jones wrote early on Monday morning. “I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all.”

Jones’ post was retweeted more than 48,000. His fellow filmmaker in arms, Star Wars: Episode VIII director Rian Johnson, tweeted support in response.

“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer,” read a statement posted to Bowie’s Facebook page. “While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
Many celebrities have expressed condolensces to Bowie, including Kanye West, Cher, Gene Simmons, Questlove, and more.
