Disney artist Brian Kesinger has captivated the Internet over the past few days with his clever (and absolutely adorable) mashups of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Bill Watterson’s classic Calvin and Hobbes.

Kesinger told Mashable that he was first inspired by the scene where Rey sleds down a sand dune on Jakku, saying that it immediately reminded him of Calvin and Hobbes and their red wagon. From there, the similarities between the two were obvious. “Calvin and Hobbes is great for so many reasons, but the friendship between the boy and his stuffed tiger is what makes it a classic — and I believe Star Wars lives on for the character bonds as well,” he wrote in an email to Mashable.

See a few of Kesinger’s mashups below, and check out more of his illustrations (including an Adventure Time Finn and BB-J8ke) on his Instagram.
