New Suicide Squad trailer: The gang's all here

(Clay Enos)

It’s been six months since any footage from Suicide Squad (out Aug. 5) has debuted, and that’s a very long time to wait for fans who want to see this movie really… really… bad. Thankfully, a brand new trailer for the DC Universe movie (set to the sounds of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”) debuted Tuesday as a part of the DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League special on The CW.

Suicide Squad is directed by David Ayer (End of Watch) and tells the story of a group of super villains who are released from prison in order to complete a mission that’s nobler than the team is used to. The squad is made up of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Deadshot (Will Smith) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney).

The other big X factor here is Jared Leto, who will make his cinematic debut as the Joker in Suicide Squad — unless there’s a surprise cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The character’s “edgier” design has been a point of contention with fans since the first photos of a tattooed Leto surfaced. He’s seen again in the trailer above, saying, “I can’t wait to show you my toys.”
