“We all hail Carol as the queen,” Amy Poehler recently said of multihyphenate entertainer Carol Burnett, praising her status as a trailblazer not just for women but for comedy in general. So it’s only fitting that she — along with frequent comedy collaborator Tina Fey — present Burnett with her lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday.
The honor is bestowed annually to “an actor who fosters the finest ideals of the acting profession,” reads a SAG Awards release, “including career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment.”
