Sad news for Stars Hollow fans: Soon after Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said they’d love to work Sookie into the revival if Melissa McCarthy had the time, McCarthy herself took to Twitter to tell her side of the story.
According to McCarthy, Sookie’s absence from the Netflix revival — which picks up in present-day and features four 90-minute episodes — has less to do with scheduling conflicts and more to do with the fact no one asked her back.
Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!! https://t.co/II2Atug4wx

Amy Sherman-Palladino assured fans that Sookie’s absence would be properly explained, but let’s just hope this is a miscommunication and Sookie can somehow find her way back to her pigtails before the revival finishes filming. (They only started filming Tuesday, so there’s still time!)
