Peyton, Shmeyton. Cam who? The real breakout star of Super Bowl 50 didn’t set foot on the field — he appeared in a commercial for Xifaxan, a medication for treating irritable bowel syndrome.
Twitter users couldn’t get enough of the walking, talking, pink-hued lower intestine, who starred in a third-quarter ad about dealing with an upset stomach during a big game. The little pink guy — who has led a recent marketing push from Valeant Pharmaceuticals — left some viewers befuddled, others grossed out, and still others charmed. One thing everyone had in common: They were all transfixed.
Here are some examples.
Dafug is the red thing in this #SB50 Xifaxan ad? Anybody? Looks like Kermit the frogs illegitamate brother.
