Twitterverse finds unofficial Super Bowl mascot in diarrhea medication commercial

Peyton, Shmeyton. Cam who? The real breakout star of Super Bowl 50 didn’t set foot on the field — he appeared in a commercial for Xifaxan, a medication for treating irritable bowel syndrome.

Twitter users couldn’t get enough of the walking, talking, pink-hued lower intestine, who starred in a third-quarter ad about dealing with an upset stomach during a big game. The little pink guy — who has led a recent marketing push from Valeant Pharmaceuticals — left some viewers befuddled, others grossed out, and still others charmed.
