Sylvester Stallone and Carl Weathers traded the ring for the red carpet when the two Rocky stars reunited at the Santa Barbara Film Festival.
The two posed for photos at the festival this week, where the Creed star accepted the Montecito Award from his former costar.
Stallone shared photos from the ceremony Wednesday morning on Instagram. “Receiving the award from the original Apollo Creed, Carl Weathers!” he wrote.

Accepting the award Monday night, Stallone said he saw the end in sight for his Rocky Balboa character. Reprising that role in Creed last year earned him a Golden Globe and a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination.
“I really have mixed feelings about this, seriously,” he said, according to Variety. “I feel like Rocky, at the end of [Creed] on the steps, with the help of a young man, and he looks out and says, ‘From here, you can see your whole life’ — it sort of summarizes the whole thing. I don’t know how much further you can push Rocky.”
He shared similar sentiments about Rocky last month at the Golden Globes.
“He represents what life is all about,” he told reporters backstage that night. “Unfortunately we don’t stay here permanently. It’s a cycle.”
