The Pablo Larraín-helmed film, which is shooting exterior scenes in front of the White House in Washington on Sunday, follows the movements of the former first lady (Portman) in the immediate aftermath of her husband’s assassination on Nov. 22, 1963.
Darren Aronofsky, who directed Portman in her Oscar-winning Black Swan role, is producing Jackie with his Protozoa Pictures partners Scott Franklin and Ari Handel, along with Fabula Films’ Juan de Dios Larrain and LD Entertainment’s Mickey Liddell.

The film, from a script by Noah Oppenheim (The Divergent Series: Allegiant), also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, and Billy Crudup.
