See Jennifer Garner sweetly read Go the F--- to Sleep

Go the F— to Sleep, a picture book ordering the children of its readers to, well, go the f— to sleep, isn’t exactly sweet — but Jennifer Garner makes it seem that way in a new video.

In the new Vanity Fair video, Garner lounges on a pool chair and smiles as she reads the book aloud, uttering lines like, “I know you’re not thirsty, that’s bulls—, you’re lying” and “a hot crimson rage fills my heart, love.”

Garner isn’t the first star to offer a rendition of Adam Mansbach’s unorthodox bedtime book; Samuel L. Jackson recorded an audiobook version, Reading Rainbow star LeVar Burton read the book to raise money for charity, and German auteur Werner Herzog lent his voice to a recording that played at the New York Public Library.

The book’s sequel, You Have to F—ing Eat, was released in 2014.
