Once Upon a Time has been renewed for a sixth season, executive producer Adam Horowitz tweeted on Thursday.
Thrilled to announce that #OnceUponATime has been picked up for season 6! Thank you ABC and thank you to the most extraordinary fans ever!

The news arrives days before the ABC fairy tale drama celebrates its 100th episode. The renewal also comes as no surprise after former ABC chief Paul Lee said the series had a “long and bright future” ahead at the recent Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. Lee was recently replaced by Channing Dungey, who had a hand in developing Once Upon a Time.
Though Once Upon a Time has seen its ratings progressively drop season-to-season — its most recent outing drew 4.56 million and a 1.3 in the demo — its Live +7 numbers tend to give the show a bump, with the demo jumping above 2.5.
Once Upon a Time returns Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. In the meantime, check out the Once cast sharing their memories of shooting the pilot.
