Zendaya joins Tom Holland in Spider-Man reboot

Zendaya is swinging into the cast of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man reboot.

The actress and singer has been cast alongside Tom Holland in the film, EW has confirmed.

Holland will star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the new take on the web-slinger, which will be directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car) and due out in 2017. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has previously said the as-yet-untitled film will be inspired by John Hughes movies and will not be an origin story.

Zendaya’s role is currently being kept under wraps. Her casting was first reported by Deadline.

Before his solo cinematic outing hits theaters, Holland will be seen as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, which arrives on May 6.
