Dwayne Johnson visited sick kids while filming Baywatch

Dwayne Johnson has been going hard on the set of Baywatch, but he still makes time to visit sick kids. After filming scenes for the R-rated reboot at the Memorial Health hospital in Savannah, Georgia, the actor decided to surprise patients in the pediatric specialty ward. 

Johnson posted an Instagram photo of a child named Aiden fist-bumping the actor. “Look at the concentration on lil’ Aiden’s face,” he wrote, later remarking, “good Lord I wish I had Aiden’s concentration when I was in my high school math classes. I wouldn’t have failed Algebra twice.”

The actor also thanked the “hard-working and caring” hospital staff. “To all the kids I met - you guys keep smiling and staying strong. All the mamas and daddy’s I met, y’all stay strong too. Gotta tell ya little stuff like this will always be the best part of fame.”

 

Johnson has been keeping fans up to date on Baywatch, in which who plays Mitch Buchannon. The by-the-books lifeguard teams up with a young hothead (Zac Efron) to stop an oil tycoon from destroying his beach. The cast is rounded out by Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas), model Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra (Quantico), and Ilfenesh Hadera (Billions). 

Baywatch will hit theaters on May 19, 2017.
