Patrick Warburton will play Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, his rep confirms to EW.

The actor will star alongside previously announced cast members Malina Weissman (Supergirl) and Louis Hyne; Neil Patrick Harris, who had been in talks to play Count Olaf, is now confirmed to star, his rep tells EW.

The Netflix series will be based on Snicket’s books of the same name, which first debuted in 2009 and follow the chaotic lives of three orphans.

“I can’t believe it. After years of providing top-quality entertainment on demand, Netflix is risking its reputation and its success by associated itself with my dismaying and upsetting books,” Snicket — a pen name for writer Daniel Handler — said in a 2014 statement.

Warburton has appeared in a number of TV shows, including Seinfeld and Less Than Perfect. He’s next starring on NBC sitcom Crowded, out Tuesday. A Series of Unfortunate Events does not yet have a release date.
