Christopher Meloni is perhaps best known for playing two characters who couldn’t be more different.

From 1998–2003, Meloni played murderous sociopath Chris Keller on HBO’s prison drama Oz. One year after he began that role, Meloni was cast as virtuous sex crimes detective Elliot Stabler in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which he starred in for 12 years, departing the series in 2011.

EW can exclusively announce that Meloni will be the next guest on Inside the Actors Studio. In a sneak peek at the episode, Meloni recalls his demanding schedule during those overlapping years, when he played a murderous felon in the mornings and portrayed a detective who arrested murderous felons in the afternoons. “It wasn’t easy,” Meloni says.

Currently, Meloni stars in WGN’s recently begun slavery drama Underground. Christopher Meloni’s episode of Inside the Actors Studio will air Thursday, March 31 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. Watch the first clip below.
