Kate Moss stars as a shadowy dancer in Massive Attack’s new “Ritual Spirit” music video, released Thursday. Armed only with a bare lightbulb on a wire, the model stands in a flesh-toned bodysuit as she swings the light throughout a pitch black room.
Created by Medium and Robert Del Naja (a.k.a. Massive Attack’s 3D) and featuring Azekel, the video riffs on the song’s dark ambiance, casting flickering rays across the room as the track echoes on. Moss has been a friend of Del Naja’s for years, according to Pitchfork.
The 42-year-old supermodel has a rather impressive history of appearing in music videos, including Elton John’s “Something About the Way You Look Tonight,” Paul McCartney’s “Queenie Eye,” and The White Stripes’ “I Just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself,” in which Moss was similarly nude and writhing around.
Earlier this year, Massive Attack announced they’d release two EPs and an album in 2016. The trip-hop trio put out the first EP, Ritual Spirit,, in January, and released a video for the project’s Young Fathers collaboration, “Voodoo in My Blood,” featuring Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), in February.
