With only a few days to spare in the promised launch window, Nintendo has confirmed when U.S. players will finally be able to download the company’s first mobile app, Miitomo.

Already available in Japan, Miitomo will be available to download for U.S. iOS and Android users on March 31. Miitomo is free to download, and uses the Mii avatars first made popular by the Nintendo Wii in a social network-like experience where players can communicate and interact with one another via their virtual representations.

Miitomo Miis will be customizable, including their own voices and personality types, and while players can create their own original Mii on the app, Wii U and 3DS owners can also import their existing Miis.

The app is tied to Nintendo’s new Nintendo Account system, as well as the upcoming My Nintendo rewards program, which will offer players rewards for using Nintendo games, systems, and other services.

More information, and the ability to pre-register for the app, is available at Miitomo‘s official website.
