Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato are preparing to hit the road this summer on the Future Now tour, but they first surprised sick kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles with special performances.

Jonas, guitar in hand, accompanied Lovato on an acoustic rendition of “Confidant,” and the pop star returned the favor by singing back-up to Jonas on “Jealous.”

“We were very lucky to have Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas come this morning,” said Erin Shields, a child life specialist. Lisa Cies, Shields’ coworker, added, “I think it helps kids feel special. When they’re in the hospital for so much I think they’re left out from a lot of normal things, whether it’s school or seeing their friends, but they kind of got their own concert here today.”

“Thanks for coming, singing, and having a great time with our patients,” read a statement from the hospital on Facebook

Jonas and Lovato’s Future Now: The Tour will begin June 24 at Florida’s BB&T Center and will run until September 17 in Los Angeles.
