If there’s anything Jessica Huang takes more seriously than rule-following, a healthy sense of self-worth, and the collected works of Stephen King, it’s Melrose Place.

In an exclusive sneak peek at Tuesday’s episode of Fresh Off the Boat, Jessica takes a stand against season finales. “So they just take summers off?!” she asks, not mollified by her friend’s argument that Melrose Place airs 32 episodes a year. “But there’s 52 weeks in a year! Not even teachers take 20 weeks of vacation!”

Teachers!” she repeats, storming off.

The episode, titled “Jessica Place,” won’t be all bad news for the Huang matriarch: Melrose alum Courtney Thorne-Smith is set to guest-star on the episode. While details of her role are under wraps for now, it’s a safe assumption that she’ll be playing herself, even despite the series’ time period: Shaquille O’Neal appeared as himself earlier this year, and has signed on for an upcoming episode, as well.

Fresh Off the Boat airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
