DWTS eliminated dancer: 'It was a wonderful experience'

The second dancer booted from the show struggled since week 1

Given the way she reacted after her week 2 dance, it didn’t seem like too much of a surprise that this celebrity got the boot from the ballroom. But first, a SPOILER WARNING! Don’t keep reading if you haven’t watched week 3 of Dancing With the Stars.

After her performance during week 2, the camera caught Mischa Barton telling her partner Artem Chigvintsev, “I can’t do another week of that.” Clearly, that was evident to the viewers, who booted The O.C. actress from the ballroom Monday.

“I had a wonderful experience,” she told Tom Bergeron with a smile — but she didn’t have much more to say.

Ironically, her dance on Monday was her best yet — at least according to the judges. Though “timing is not your strong suit,” Bruno Tonioli said, “you were more relaxed, more engaged.”

In the end, it wasn’t enough.

Barton’s short stint on the show was marred by low scores and hurtful comments. On premiere night, Len Goodman delivered a whammy by arguing her tango “wasn’t a dance.” It brought her to tears.

Afterwards, Chigvintsev told EW that “when someone comes into a competition like this, it’s quite hard to commit in general, and then to come out for the first time and perform live, doing something you’ve never done before, I feel like there should be more encouragement.”
