Legendary director John Carpenter has scared a lot of people with big screen horror classics like Halloween, The Fog, and The Thing. But the most terrifying he has done of late occurred back in February when Carpenter announced just a single U.S. date on his forthcoming world tour.

Since then, the nerves of fans have been soothed by the news that he will be playing more concerts around the country including, the filmmaker has now announced, shows in Philadelphia (July 9) and Chicago (July 16). (Full tour details can be found at Carpenter’s official site.)

The director has also released a video for the track “Distant Dreams” from his new album Lost Themes II (out April 15). You can see the clip, above.
