Blink-182 is getting ready to return with new music (the first sans guitarist Tom DeLonge), but that won’t stop bassist Mark Hoppus from celebrating tunes by breakout artists like Day Wave.

Hoppus stars in the new video for Day Wave’s “Stuck,” off their excellent EP Hard to Read. As one of EW’s favorite acts at SXSW, Day Wave pairs dreamy synths with beachy lo-fi guitars, and in this clip, Hoppus dissects it all, as a spoof of the viral video of Father Roderick watching the Star Wars trailer.

Instead of seeing an actual video, the veteran bassist describes what would be the video. “Burt Reynolds! No way!” he says after seeing a dozen roses and a coyote. Day Wave’s Jackson Phillips sits behind Hoppus, reading a magazine. Per a release, Hoppus beame a fan of Day Wave after hearing “Drag” on Beats 1, and the two maintained a Twitter friendship.
