Vin Diesel’s love of music is no secret. He’s a pro at break-dancing, isn’t afraid to lip-sync to some Katy Perry, and most recently sang part of “See You Again” at the People’s Choice Awards to honor Paul Walker. But despite all of that, Diesel has yet to perform with a gospel choir — until now, that is.
The action star took a break from filming xXx: The Return of Xander Cage last week to sing a passionate rendition of the gospel standard “Oh Happy Day” with the choir Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale. In a video captured of the moment, Diesel explains that he included a choir in the film after a dream he had, and that he and Samuel L. Jackson were filming a scene in the church he and the choir were in that day.

“A dream of mine always has been to have the confidence to sing in a choir,” Diesel reveals, before launching into song.
And Diesel is certainly not lacking in confidence. The actor bellows the lead vocals, even slamming his hand on the pulpit, as the choir backs him. He may not sound like that kid from Sister Act 2, but Diesel definitely has spirit. Check out the video below.
