Ryan Gosling talks Blade Runner sequel: 'It's a big undertaking'

(Andrew Toth/FilmMagic)

Ryan Gosling has told EW that he is feeling the pressure over his next project, the sequel to Blade Runner. “It’s a big undertaking with a lot of pressure on everyone involved,” the actor said. “But it’s exciting as well.”

Gosling’s costars in the Denis Villeneuve-directed film include Robin Wright, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista, and, of course, Harrison Ford. Blade Runner’s screenwriter, Hampton Francher, wrote the screenplay for the sequel with input from Ridley Scott — who directed the original, 1982 science-fiction classic — and Michael Green. The Blade Runner sequel starts filming this summer and will be released Oct. 6, 2017.

Gosling will next be seen alongside Russell Crowe in writer-director Shane Black’s action-comedy The Nice Guys, which arrives in theaters, May 20. You can see the trailer for that movie, below.
