Two of Prince’s most memorable qualities were the total control he exhibited over his art, and the utter dedication he inspired from his fanbase. The latter sometimes defied the former. When Prince performed at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre on April 14, no one in attendance probably had any idea it would be the icon’s last major concert. Nevertheless, some fans ignored Prince’s “no photos” rule and snapped some portable memories before ushers could stop them (one of these renegade fans was none other than CeeLo Green). A good thing they did, too; when Prince died suddenly a little a week later, these photos survived as a testament from Prince’s final concert (he played “Purple Rain” as the last song).
