Ariana Grande and Jimmy Fallon have an entire lip sync conversation

2016 NBCUniversal Media, LLC (NBC)

Lip syncing can get so violent these days. It’s all “battle” this, “face-off” that. When Jimmy Fallon and Ariana Grande lip-synced together on Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show, it was a much more peaceful situation. The two had a “Lip Sync Conversation” where Fallon, upon checking on Grande in her dressing room, talked to her entirely with pop music.

The pair greeted each other with G-Eazy’s “Me, Myself, & I” and 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up” (“Hey, hey, hey, I said hey, what’s going on?”). The two discussed their throwback Thursday Instagrams with the wistful stylings of Frank Sinatra. Both of them then used Rihanna’s “Work,” which seemed to tick off Fallon. “Why you gotta be so rude?” Grande asked, in full Magic! style. “I’m not trying to be rude,” Fallon replied with R. Kelly’s voice.

When Fallon told Grande about his plans to “swing from the chandelier” this weekend, she warned him of the dangers. He responded by singing her own song, “Dangerous Woman.” The newest entry to this pop stable came at the end, when Grande used Beyoncé’s “Sandcastles” to discuss her beach plans. That song, off Lemonade, is very sad, all broken dreams and dashed hopes, but it didn’t ruin the mood here.
