Julia Roberts and Ellen DeGeneres talked about one of their commonalities: They each shared a stage with Taylor Swift during the pop star’s 1989 tour.
“I’ve never seen this — I don’t think that should actually be viewed,” she told DeGeneres.
“You really dressed up for that appearance, didn’t you?” DeGeneres deadpanned, referring to Roberts’ on-stage wardrobe of a 1989 T-shirt. “I didn’t dress for 50,000 people,” Roberts defended.
Meanwhile, the host popped up a few weeks later on stage with Swift in Los Angeles in a dress similar to the singer. “I knew what she was wearing, and I surprised her,” DeGeneres said. “She had no idea.”

Before heading on stage, Roberts polled her kids — who were attending their first concert — on what she should do. One insisted she should absolutely go through with it. Her 8-year-old son, though, had one condition: “‘Mommy, only do it if you feel comfortable,'” Roberts recalled.
