According to Reid Scott, who plays Dan Egan on Veep, the actors on the critically acclaimed HBO political satire love to make each other laugh and compete to see who will break first while filming scenes.
“I think on most comedies there’s always a bit of competition on who can get each other to break,” Scott told EW. The giggliest of the gang?
Scott said it’s Tony Hale, who plays Gary Walsh, the very dedicated personal aide to President Selina Meyer, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
“Tony Hale will always break,” Scott said. “He’s one of the funniest people you’ll ever meet and one the nicest guys on the face of the planet. But getting Tony to break is kind of everyone’s favorite little game.”
Scott also spoke admiringly of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, saying that he has never seen anyone work so hard before.
“I can speak for the rest of the cast: she’s an inspiration,” he said. “I don’t know how she finds the energy, but she’s incredible.”
