Watching landmark albums or movies that you remember from your youth start hitting double-digit anniversaries can be strange. The upside is, a lot of bands love doing 10th anniversary shows of landmark albums. So it is with The Hold Steady, who are playing a handful of shows to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Boys & Girls in America, their seminal album about the triumph and tragedy of messing up your twenties.

More specific details regarding the tour are due on May 18, but the band did promise that their former keyboard player Franz Nicolay, who left the band in 2010, will be involved.

In the same announcement, The Hold Steady also revealed that they will be reissuing 2004’s Almost Killed Me and 2005’s Separation Sunday on vinyl in the fall via Frenchkiss records.

“Stay Positive! It’s about to get incredible!” the band wrote on Facebook. See their post below.
