NBC is whetting audiences’ appetites with the first photos for its movie franchise-turned-TV series Taken.
Based on the hit movie trilogy starring Liam Neeson, the episodic prequel will star Vikings‘ Clive Standen as former Green Beret Bryan Mills, a “younger, hungrier” version of the character originated by Neeson. Shaken by a personal tragedy and fighting to overcome it, Mills is set on getting revenge when he is “pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative, a job that awakens his very particular, and very dangerous, set of skills.”
Jennifer Beals also stars in the new series and can be seen alongside Standen in one of the three new photos below. Standen is hugging Victoria Snow, who plays Sarah Mills, in another. Brooklyn Sudano, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Gaius Charles, Michael Irby, James Landry Hébert, and Jose Pablo Cantillo also star.
Luc Besson, who produced and wrote all three movies, will serve as executive producer along with Matthew Gross, Edouard de Vésinne, Thomas Anargyros, and director Alex Graves. Alexander Cary serves as writer and executive producer.
