X-Men: Apocalypse: Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters gets a totally ‘80s TV commercial

Are you a 1980s teenager struggling to both fit in with your peers and to control your mystical mutant powers? Man, do we have the school for you.

Ahead of the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, Fox has shared a retro TV commercial promoting Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. One of the school’s students, Jubilee (Lana Condor), narrates the video, encouraging young mutants everywhere to attend Xavier’s “totally rad” academy.

“At Xavier’s, you’ll meet students and even teachers who are just like you and understand everything that you’re going through,” Jubilee explains. “Under the guidance of world-renowned geneticist Professor Charles Xavier, you’ll learn how to control your gifts, while also getting the education and training that you need to succeed in the fast-paced world of 1983.”

The clip even ends with a toll-free number to call for more information on the school. (If you do, you get a special message from Stan Lee himself.)

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27. Watch the clip above.
