Bruce Springsteen often brings friends and special guests on stage for concerts, and Dublin concertgoers were treated to one who happened to be a local son: Bono.

The U2 frontman joined Springsteen and the E-Street Band on Sunday for a one-song spot. Croke Park was treated to their take on the Patti Smith hit “Because the Night,” which was co-written by The Boss.

Bono and Springsteen — who each gave the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction speech for the other person — have played the track before. The duo still shine in the usual share-the-mic duties, but guitarist Nils Lofgren’s energetic solo near the end truly stands out.
