Prison Break's Dominic Purcell recovering from injuries with humor

(Noam Galai/WireImage)

Prison Break star Dominic Purcell appears to be recovering from his on-set injuries well… and with quite the sense of humor.

The actor shocked fans on Thursday when he posted a picture of his bloodied and bandaged face, the result of an iron ball falling on him, breaking his nose and busting open parts of his head. Fox quickly announced that filming on the new Prison Break event series would not be delayed by the injury, though Purcell would be given time to recover.

Since then, the 46-year-old has been sharing every step of his recovery process on Instagram, including heartfelt thank-yous to his costar, Wentworth Miller, and his doctor, as well as humorous videos of him hitting a punching bag (is this really a great idea with a broken nose?!) and hopped up on painkillers after surgery.

“U wanna see some funny s— me on drugs after my operation from my battle wounds. Ha!!” he wrote alongside the post-surgery clip posted Monday. “Chill people I’m totally fine. Just having a laugh at my own expense. NO MORE GET WELL SOON. IM GOOD!!!!!!!!! WHY SO SERIOUS!! Haha. Laugh!!!!”

Over it. Need to get home to my kids.
