Meghan Trainor dedicates emotional ballad to Christina Grimmie at concert

Meghan Trainor was among the many friends of Christina Grimmie heartbroken by the singer’s death on Friday night. Grimmie was shot and killed after a concert in Orlando; she was 22 years old. To honor her late friend, Trainor dedicated her performance of the ballad “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” to Grimmie.

“If you’ll please sing it with me as a shout-out to our girl Christina,” Trainor told the crowd. “This one’s for her, let’s sing nice and loud.”

We love you @therealgrimmie

Trainor was among the celebrities who shared touching tributes to Grimmie over the weekend. Other remembrances came from Selena Gomez and Grimmie’s The Voice coach Adam Levine. Charlie Puth also dedicated his song “See You Again” to Grimmie at one of his live shows.

“I remember geeking out and telling you how I would watch your YouTube videos in high school, and how you were so kind and responded to a stranger with love,” Trainor wrote on Instagram. “This is unfair and heartbreaking. We lost one of the most talented singers and one of the kindest hearts. We will all miss you.”

Listening to this beautiful girl all day. Still in shock. My thoughts and prayers to her family and fans
