Meat Loaf 'responsive and recovering' after on-stage collapse

The rocker's rep made a statement on his condition

Meat Loaf’s rep released a statement Friday following the rocker’s collapse during an Edmonton, Canada concert on Thursday night.

According to the statement, the 68-year-old singer collapsed “due to severe dehydration” and was admitted to a nearby hospital to “undergo routine tests.”

Meatloaf is “responsive and recovering well,” the statement continued. Concert postponements and rescheduled dates will be announced “at a later time.”

News of Meat Loaf’s collapse spread after a fan posted a video from the concert with the caption “OMG he’s unconscious!” The footage shows Meat Loaf falling to the ground while singing “I’d Do Anything For Love.”

Meat Loaf collapsed Thursday night due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.

He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal he’s responsive and recovering well.

He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone’s support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery.

Any concert postponements/ rescheduled dates will be announced at a later time.
