Production on Doctor Who’s tenth season began earlier this week, and on Thursday, fans caught a glimpse of the production.

The official Doctor Who Twitter shared a photo and video (see both below) of new companion Pearl Mackie on her first location shoot of the season. “It’s my first day on location!” Mackie gushed as she filmed the video. “It’s mad, it’s really exciting. There’s loads of fans!” She panned over to the small gathering of excited fans at the location shoot, which took place outside a university building at Cathays Park in Cardiff, Wales.

“Look, it’s snowing – in June,” she teased, showing the crew hard at work turning the location into a winter wonderland.

Executive producer Steven Moffat previously told Doctor Who Magazine that Mackie would make her debut as new companion Bill in the first episode of season 10, airing in Spring 2017. But with the crew setting up a snowy scene, is it possible fans will meet Bill in this year’s upcoming Christmas special? Let the speculation commence!

For now, check out the first video and photo of Mackie’s first location shoot below.
