Making of the Mob: Chicago: Al Capone evades police in exclusive clip

There’s been no shortage of on-screen portrayals of Al Capone, but an upcoming AMC series aims to offer new insight into the notorious crime figure.

In an exclusive clip from the premiere episode of The Making of the Mob: Chicago, a young Capone finds himself making quite the impression on well-known mob boss Johnny Torrio as he manages to escape police custody with some of Torrio’s money.

The eight-episode docu-drama follows Capone from his childhood in New York to his rise through the criminal ranks in Chicago. Through a blend of dramatic scenes, archival footage, and interviews, the series profiles his ruthless and powerful empire.

AMC’s chronicle of the Capone saga comes on the heels of last year’s The Making of the Mob: New York, which focused on fellow mobster Lucky Luciano.

The Making of the Mob: Chicago will premiere on Monday, July 11 at 10 p.m. ET.
