Frank Ocean teases July release for Boys Don't Cry album

To say fans have been waiting a long time for Frank Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry doesn’t begin to grasp the level of anticipation. Even Adele told Rolling Stone she’s tired of “f–king waiting for Frank f–king Ocean to come out with his album.” Thankfully, the wait may be finally over.

An image posted on Ocean’s website depicts a library “due date” slip with the title of his second studio album at the bottom underneath a series of dates. The first is from July 2015, when the artist initially said Boys Don’t Cry would drop. The URL for the image is titled “late,” reiterating the album’s continuous delay. Now a year later, the final date listed is July 2016, though the specific date is smudged.

As noted by The Fader, Ocean’s brother, Ryan Breaux, posted the same image to Instagram with a hashtag for July 2016.

Back in March, Ocean’s producer Malay said Boys Don’t Cry could potentially drop in a month, but not until the singer was ready. “We’ve all been working hard. He’s been working super hard. I feel like he’s working harder than he’s ever worked in his life,” he said. “I’m excited for everyone to hear it. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised, for sure.”
