Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy – the Schuyler Sisters – paid tribute to the departing original cast members from Hamilton by covering Billy Joel.
As Phillipa Soo, who played Eliza Schuyler in the musical, said goodbye on Saturday night, her on-stage sisters, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones, joined the exiting actress for a cover of Joel’s “The Longest Time.”
The video, posted to the official Hamilton YouTube account, was one of a number of tributes to the exiting original cast members, which included Soo as well as star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tony-winning actor Leslie Odom, Jr.
In addition to the video, both Goldsberry and Jones said farewell to their Hamilton sibling via social media. “May you spread your wings and take the world my dear sister. I love you. Till next time,” Jones wrote on Twitter, alongside a quartet of photos of the actresses.
