Cliff Williams, your fans salute you.

AC/DC said goodbye to their longtime bassist at their Philadelphia concert Tuesday night at the perfect moment, during the final notes of the band’s 1981 track, “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You).” As the song came to a close, Angus Young brought Williams, who had been with AC/DC since 1978, to centerstage and the bassist took a final bow to end the show.

Williams announced that he was retiring from the band earlier on Tuesday, making the band’s performance his last show. At the time he said, “I’m just ready to get off the road, really, and do what I do. […] I just need family time, now. Just chill out and not do this.”
